On those days where I just can’t face the constant struggle that is my wardrobe, all I want to do is throw on a super easy outfit and go. Then I kinda feel guilty because as someone who is writing about and working in fashion, there are expectations for us to be super glamorous and extravagant all the time, but we’re human too!

Wearing an off duty outfit doesn’t necessarily mean losing your style identity for the day. No two off duty outfits are the same, because there are different elements that will still scream “you” in the outfit…
- The cut of the jeans (flared, skinny, bootcut, straight leg)
- The wash of the jeans (stone wash, faded, raw)
- The fabric of the top (cotton, linen, cupro – all will give a completely different edge)
- The style of the top (slogan, embroidery, patches, band tee, plain)
Without further ado, let’s take a quick look at our favorite celebrities acing off duty in their own way!

British actress and model Sienna Miller is a fanatic of the off duty style, which is why I mentioned her earlier. She has been the muse for many brands, but understandably, she can have a day off too. She can regularly be seen in straight-leg or loose-fitting jeans, with a simple sweater or tee and her trademark tousled waves to keep in line with her Bohemian-meets-preppy vibe. She almost always finishes the outfit with oversized sunglasses to make it a little more dramatic – we love!

Another celebrity whose off duty style we love to look at is that of Miranda Kerr’s. She makes it feminine yet edgy – a basic white tee and jeans teamed with some leopard print loafers perhaps? She appears somewhat dressier compared to Sienna because she is never seen without skinny jeans, which elongate her model proportions all the more. She also choses smarter shoes – court flats and tie-up pumps – to differentiate her look from the others and feel dressed up when she’s just wearing a simple combo.

Emma Watson may have been snapped up by huge designers such as Burberry once the Harry Potter franchise came to an end, but that doesn’t mean she can’t be seen in a pair of jeans. She opts for skinny jeans to flatter her slim figure, and her style is very classic and timeless, and is also quite Heritage-inspired. She will wear skinny jeans with a crisp white shirt or a black tee, with a classic camel leather jacket or a Prince of Wales check blazer to masculinize her outfits. Despite being classic in her style, she is not afraid to be playful – we thought one of her off duty style highlights was when she wore a denim skinny pinafore with platform slip-ons. We’re definitely putting this on our wishlists.

We love seeing what Demi Lovato has to offer street style wise because over the years, her style has developed into something a little more urban and sporty. Plus, she knows what suits her curvy silhouette - which, as we mentioned earlier, is crucial to nailing a look. She knows what suits her and sticks to flattering lines and shapes. She emphasizes her waist by tucking in a v-neck tee and elevates her look with heels. With her sleek cut bob and sunglasses, she walks the streets like they are a runway, even though realistically she is in quite a simple outfit. She also makes sure her accessories are timeless yet stand-out to elevate her outfits. She usually is spotted wearing or carrying a bomber jacket or a biker jacket to roughen up her look.

Last but not least, she may be one of the most influential people in Hollywood, with her acting career and business-running, but Jessica Alba knows when to stay down-to-Earth with her personal style. Her street style ensembles have been watched and adored by millions over the years, because like her, they are sweet, simple yet different. She manages to add twists to her looks such as long-line shirts and billowing Bohemian shirts. She just seems to be able to pull off anything, even on a lazy day! I think we can learn a lot from her style – to experiment and be versatile with our wardrobes.
