Fashion Week 19 is the perfect time to applaud the creative minds in fashion and their innovative designs for the year ahead. Admittedly, not all the wacky designs are our cup of tea, but there are always plenty that catch our eye – and get us dreaming.
It’s just the start of Fashion Week, but boy is it off to a good start! Picking out the fabulous from the damn right weird is a challenge, because no matter how symbolic the Meme Viktor & Rolf dresses are, they just aren’t practical. It’s a mood, but not an everyday look we’re ready to embrace.
That’s where we come in – we’re going to show you a few of our faves for FW19. There are some really promising trends that we can’t wait to rock! See us as your guide round the fashion maze that is Fashion Week, we’ll help you find trends and looks that will take you all through FW19 and more importantly, beyond. Nothing is as classy as a timeless, chic outfit!
Isabel Marant’s Pre Fall 19 collection is powerful, yet subtle. Super sharp tailoring, the mix of textures and a softer color palettes of muted camels and beiges make it universal and timeless. Parisian chic gains a new lease of life with her empoweringly sexy jumpsuits and feminine prints. Her collection is so easy to take from day to night with a switch of pants. We love!
As I picture you rolling your eyes – “burgundy in winter, how revolutionary!” you mutter to yourself – stay with me. Burgundy may be a staple color for fall and winter but isn’t that the point? You can never grow old of burgundy, you just need new ways to wear it! Hermes’ bermuda shorts with a laid-back blouse add an androgynous vibe, as well as the riding boots for the Equestrian look everyone was laughing about just a few years ago.
Stella McCartney, despite her family background, made it into the fashion industry on her own, and definitely didn’t ride on the back of her father’s success. For her latest FW19 collection, she has been inspired by his career in music with The Beatles, and has a powerful message to spread. Using lyrics such as All Together Now, and using shades representative of his band at the time, she knows that now is a better time than any to get people to unite for their love and music and fashion. Our favorite piece is this trench coat with a plissé back, adding a feminine touch to a masculine piece.
Jewel tones such as emerald and sapphire add a little something special to your wardrobe. Whether you want to wow on a date or stand out on a trip out with the girls, jewel tones are your best friend – they flatter all skin tones and bring out all your best features. If anyone fancies getting me this Maison Rabih Kayrouz dress, I’ll be eternally grateful!
